This Work Package is dedicated to the preparation of Summer Schools and Workshops on Land Degradation. 

Summer Schools program preparation phase represents the first part of the preparation of training activities targeting postgraduate students (including PhD students). The summer schools will be organized in the 6 Countries of the project partners (3 per year) and will be structured over 6 working, with 8 hours of taught lessons per day, addressing specific issues (such as cropping systems' sustainability, food security, geospatial technologies, e.g. GIS, GPS, remote sensing). 

Workshops on various topics related to the Land Degradation will be organized by the project partners (11 workshops in total). They will be held in the form of webinar and will be addressed to academic and research staff of Partner Countries Universities and Research Centers.

 

TASK 1

Realization of a Baseline Study

As a preparatory activity, a baseline study will be conducted concerning Land Degradation topics addressed by partner universities and the typically implemented educational approach. 

TASK 3

Summer schools' organization 

This task aims at organizing summer schools on selected topics in the field of Land Degradation. One summer school per each country involved in the project consortium will be realized along the implementation period for a total of 6 Summer Schools (3 per year). 

TASK 2

Workshops' organization 

This task is dedicated to the design and organization of 11 workshops that will be held at Universities and Research Centers' premises and will be delivered as online webinars. 

 

TASK 4

Assessment of administrative procedures 

This task will be dedicated to the analysis of administrative procedures currently implemented in the Universities of the Consortium in the field of credit recognition and curricular paths, in order to prepare accreditation processes that will be associated to the summer schools and workshops implementation.
